Used as a 'pied-à-terre', this 900 sf. Upper East Side apartment makes every effort to be in charge. In a 40's concrete building with no natural gas, making HVAC improvements was a challenge from the onset. Through creative mechanical problem solving and precise calculations, the entire apartment is now heated via in-floor electric radiant and the original water heater tank [a closet space hog] made way for an electric instant water heater. Some mild manipulation to the spaces gave this space a well needed luxurious walk-in closet in the bedroom and an expanded bathroom in the private living spaces. With the removal of the two kitchen walls and expansion towards the street, these updates gave the public spaces the open concept design that welcomes comfort and entertainment.
